![]() This, and The Honjin Murders (previously reviewed for Shiny by Harriet here), have been produced by Pushkin Press. The work of Yokomizo has until relatively recently been unknown in the west. This Japanese detective thriller is set in the 1940s and so is relatively ‘modern’, but only in that calendar sense: in style and mood, it is golden age with a dash of gothic. ![]()
